Dr. Sandra Gustavson

Dr. Sandra R. Gustavson of The Elms Nursing Home in Hudson, OH, formerly of Erie, PA passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017. She was born on September 17, 1942. She was predeceased in death by her mother Ruth Wilhelmina Sandberg Gustavson and her father Robert Walfred Gustavson, both of Erie, PA. Sandra is survived by one sister Dr. Wendy R. Heitzenroder and her husband The Reverend Frederick C. Heitzenroder who have residences
in Oldsmar, Fl and Greensburg, PA. She has one nephew, Matthew Frederick Heitzenroder of Bellingham, WA, in addition to several cousins as well as friends and neighbors in Hudson, OH, especially cousin-in-law Tamera Peterson who was an exceptionally loving caregiver.

Sandra graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Erie, PA in 1960 and earned a BA in Sociology from Allegheny College, Meadville, PA in 1964. Later on, Sandra received a MA and PhD in Business Administration from Kent State University in Ohio.

After college, Sandra was employed as a social worker in Mentor, OH and then directed a home for Juvenile Offenders in Painesville, OH. She worked as a project manager for the City of Cleveland water department and was a consultant for Roc Consultants. She then formed her own consulting business, Gustavson Associates, L.L.C. Sandra was also employed by Kent State University of Ohio as an assistant professor and an adjunct professor for Clarion State University in Clarion, PA.

Sandra was a member of the former Bethany Lutheran Church, Erie, PA and was affiliated with The Society for the Universal Living Christ in Cleveland, OH. She supported Dining for Women, an organization which promotes gender equality, education, and health for women worldwide.

A private memorial service was conducted from the Lutheran Church of The Resurrection, Palm Harbor, Florida.
