Dr. Helen Marie Kohn

Dr. Helen Marie Kohn, M.D. Psychiatrist, age 82, of Erie, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at Nightingale Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born on November 29, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA. Helen was the daughter of the late Percy Kynryn (P.K.) and Mathilda Jones nee Schaming.

Helen was a respected analyst in the field of psychology, known for her keen insight and compassionate approach. Her career was marked by her deep commitment to helping others understand and navigate the complexities of the human mind. She earned her undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and went on to receive her master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and served her residency at the University of Cincinnati, where she laid the foundation of her successful career.

Outside of her professional life, Helen was a proud mother and a woman of many interests. She was especially passionate about her home, taking great pride in the work she did to make it fully solar-powered and energy-efficient. Her dedication to sustainability reflected her caring and thoughtful nature.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Tucker. Richard Tucker, and Benjamin Kohn. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched as a psychologist.

A private service will be held in her memory. Burial in Anshe Hessed Cemetery with Rabbi Rob Morais officiating.
