Douglas Hilbert

Douglas Hilbert, age 57, of Erie, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie, October 17, 1964 to the late Douglas Hilbert Sr. and Maryann Gebhardt. Doug was a graduate of McDowell High School, before becoming a welder, working with Signal Tech.

He loved working on his cars, he was a talented metal worker and welder. Doug loved all animals, especially dogs, he loved road trips, riding dirt bikes, and off-roading.

He is survived by his two children, Kevin Hilbert and his wife Kathryn, and Amanda Hilbert Demeter and her husband Ryan. Doug is survived by his grandchildren, Isabella Hilbert, Bryce Hilbert, and Mia Hilbert. He is further survived by his mother, Maryann Gebhardt, and his siblings, Mary Elyn Cacchione, Stephanie Reilley, and Gregory Gebhardt.

In addition to his father, He is preceded in death by his sister, Kim Fritz, and his step-father, Harold “Butch” Gebhardt.

Friends are invited to call on the family Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown 602 W. 10^th Street, Erie, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
