Douglas Dailey

June 30, 1951 — January 16, 2018

Douglas Gerald Dailey, 66, passed away on January 16, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness.  He was born in Erie, PA on June 30, 1951, the son of the late Gerald and Joan Feisler Dailey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Mills. 

He was a 1969 graduate of McDowell High School.  He later graduated from Mercyhurst College, majoring in Computer Science and was employed at the Erie County Computer Bureau for 25 years. 

Doug was a founding member of the Whole Foods Co-Op in 1973. He was very talented at carpentry and could build or repair almost anything.  Doug was an avid music lover, especially music from the 1960’s.  He was quick with a joke and maintained his sense of humor through his last days.

Survivors include his wife and best friend of 44 years, Barbara Tyler Dailey; daughters, Emily Dailey of San Diego, CA, and Stefanie Dailey of New York City; one granddaughter, Madeline Dailey.  He is further survived by his sister, Gail Cahill and her husband, Bill; brother in law, Bob Mills, Jr. and two nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff at Manchester Commons for providing excellent care in a home-like atmosphere.
