Dorothy B. Wilkins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom on Wednesday May 8th, 2024.

Dorothy B. Tucker Wilkins, 93, lived in Fairview PA and was formerly a snowbird of Sebring FL. She was born in Albion PA on November 18th, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lyle Z. and Blanche B. Mosier Tucker. 

She was a 1948 graduate of Albion High School and Edinboro State Teachers’ College in 1952, where she met the love of her life Wayne. She taught in Jamestown NY and had been a treasured substitute teacher in the Fairview and Girard school districts for over 30 years. 

Daisy was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church where she volunteered in many ways for many years, and Koinonia of Erie County. She was a golfer in the Overlake Ladies Golf League and Spring Lake Golf Club where she scored a hole in one. She was part of her college friends’ group “the Round Robins” of Edinboro College for over 60 years. Daisy was much loved by many and will be sadly missed and joyfully remembered. Never without a smile or a kind word, Daisy was a wonderful Mom, Grandma, and GiGi. She was well known for her fabulous cooking and baking and was the perfect hostess. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Jean and Bob Shearer, Bill and Jean Tucker, Gladys and Ken Nye and Shirley and Dave Kaufer.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Wayne Wilkins; Son, Tim Wilkins of Asheville NC; Daughters, Dawn Wilkins and her husband Rob Sprogell of Key West FL, Vicky Meeder and her husband Ron of Fairview, Wendy Ochalek and her husband Bill of Fairview; 3 grandsons, Zach Meeder and his wife Allison of Sellersburg IN, Zane Meeder of Phoenix AZ, and Tucker Ochalek and his wife McKenzie of Ashtabula OH; 2 great granddaughters, Ainsley and Zaiya Meeder.

Friends are invited to call at Fairview United Methodist Church, 4601 Avonia Road, Fairview on Friday July 12, 2024, from 3:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.
