Dorothy Straw

Dorothy E. Straw, age 90, of Lake City, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She was born in Erie, on July 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Noble and Margaret Blount Lawrence.

Dorothy graduated from Fairview High School. 

Family was everything to her and kept her busy.  She enjoyed canning.  Dorothy loved traveling to Florida, where she spent her time with friends going to coffee hour, playing Bingo or any other fun social activity.  Dorothy loved attending the Lawrence Family Reunions.

She was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene who just passed away September 12, 2017; a grandson, Dennis Straw and a brother, Ivan Lawrence.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Gregory Straw and his wife Nancy of Lake City, John Straw of Erie, Larry Straw of Zephyrillis, Fl., Barbara Ohmer and her husband Jim of Millcreek and Douglas Straw and his wife Nadine of Lake City; two sisters, Beatrice Shelter and her husband Bud and Brenda Fialkowski and her husband Jeff.  She is further survived by nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Wednesday from 2- 5pm and on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am with Pastor Jack Tickle officiating.

Burial will be at Girard Cemetery.
