Dorothy Scott

Dorothy Burdick Scott, age 71, of Girard, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Corry on July 23, 1945, a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Bromley Burdick.

Dorothy had worked as a retail manager at Country Fair and was a supervisor at MFG and Olan Mills.

She loved spending time with her family and especially playing with her grandchildren. Dorothy loved puzzles and black velvet art.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ernest Scott (2015); two sisters: Francis Smith and Mary Bowman and two brothers, Lloyd and Alton Burdick.

Dorothy is survived by four daughters: Chrystal Haffley and her husband Dennis, Renee’ Richardson and her husband Scott, Tracy Scott, Robin Waters; and son, Ernest “Buddy” Scott and his wife, Sarah; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Isabelle Swart and a brother, Walter Burdick. Dorothy is also survived by two nieces that she raised as her own daughters, Mary McNaughton and Beverly Abata. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard, on Friday from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
