Dorothy (Shoff) Rennie

Dorothy (Shoff) Rennie, age 96 of Erie passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 with her family at her side. She was born May 6, 1928 in Wilmore, PA the daughter of the late Firman and Mildred (Skelly) Shoff.

Dorothy attended Villa Maria College where she received her teaching degree and continued her education at Edinboro University obtaining her Master in Reading Education while raising four children. She was a longtime teacher at Klein elementary school in Harborcreek, Villa Maria Elementary school and a substitute teacher in the Millcreek School District. She enjoyed watching her students learn and mature over time. She was a former member of St. Patrick Church. She also liked gardening, trips to the beach with friends and spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Rennie, a grandson Paul, and a brother Earl Shoff.
Dorothy is survived by her children; William Rennie (Bonnie) of Hailey, ID; Mark Rennie (Annette) of Girard; Thomas Rennie (Annie) of West Seneca, NY and Debbie Zacsko (Peter) of Sweden.

She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, 130 E.4th St., on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10:00 am. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick church.
