Dorothy Gorndt

Dorothy Mae Knablein Gorndt, age 91, of Erie, passed away Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East. She was born in Erie, on October 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Jack and Vera Lininger Knablein. She graduated from Academy High School in 1940, and was a bookkeeper for Security Peoples Trust Co. for 27 years. She was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church. Dorothy was a very caring person and loved by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herman J. Gorndt, two sisters: Marilyn J. Betz and Pearl Bentze, and a brother, Kenneth M. Knablein. She is survived by two sisters, Jean Francisco, of Lenexa, KS and Kathryn Moon of Erie and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family on Friday November 29 from 12pm until the time of the service at 2pm at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave).
