Dorothy Baginski Lamison, age 87, of Erie, was taken from us very unexpectedly on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Erie on May 14, 1927, a daughter of the late Gustave and Clara Pelkowski Zelasky.
Dorothy was a cook for the Sisters of Mercy and the Mothers of Mercy Mother House for 16 years. She was known for her homemade soups. She was also a member of Holy Family Church.
She loved bowling and bowled up until this year. Dorothy always loved the Christmas holiday and was already decorating her house. She loved her car and never let the engine cool. She was loved very much by all of her family and friends and will be truly missed. Her daughter Pamela will miss her daily phone calls and will continue to miss them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Theodore Baginski, her second husband, William Lamison, a son Frederick Baginski, a grandson Scott Baginski and her two brothers, Robert and Thomas Zelasky.
She is survived by five children: Timothy Baginski (Cindy), David Baginski (Martha), Pamela Bair (Keith), William Lamison (Tricia) and Lynette Wendelboe (Scott); nine grandchildren: Timothy, Courtney, Jillian, Zachary, Carrie, Jackie, Cristy, Nicholas and Justin; several great-grandchildren and one step granddaughter Samantha.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with prayers at 6:30pm and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, 913 Fulton St. on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery.
