Dorothy Irene Anderson

Dorothy Irene Anderson, age 88, of West Springfield, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 5, 1925, in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jennings Clay and Margaret Berkey Barnett.

Dorothy graduated from Punxsutawney High School. She was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She loved her home and her animals. Dorothy was an avid family historian and devoted countless hours to compiling her family’s genealogy. She greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking and birdwatching. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband William Anderson, a daughter Margaret Webb, a granddaughter Laura Mendralla, and three brothers: Howard Jay Barnett, Francis Ardell Barnett and Richard Larry Barnett.

She is survived by seven grandchildren: Thomas Webb and his wife Tina of Erie, William Webb of VA, Roberta Ellis of Erie, Jennifer Salley and husband Terry of Hawaii, Christopher Webb and his wife Andrea of Venango, Rebeca Webb of Erie and Caryn Webb, also of Erie; a sister, Dora JoAnne Baker; three brothers: Donald Jake Barnett, Allen Berkey Barnett and Harvey Carl Barnett; great grandchildren: Michael, Jessica, Amanda, Scott, Tommy, Timmy, Tyler, Taylor, Trever, Trent, Tarilyn, Stephanie, Caitlynn, Elizabeth, Dashonne, James, Lauren, Taria, James, David, William and Dorothy; many great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
