Dorothea Stanko

Dorothea Mae Stanko age 94, of Erie, passed away on Friday June 10, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Williamsfield, OH on October 21, 1921 a daughter of the late William J. and Ruth V. Peters Lohret.

She graduated from Kinsman High School and went on to work at the Boston Store for many years. She was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Dorothea loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards with her friends at St. Joseph Apartments where she has lived for over 14 years. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Eugene Stanko.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberle (Thomas) Byerly; two granddaughters, Leanne Mae and Callee Marie; and a cousin Janice Mae Starkey of OH.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m.
