Doris Smith-Caughlin

1. Doris M. Smith-Caughlin, age 73, of Albion, died Friday, May 24, 2013, as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Erie on May 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Clara L. Eller Abbott.

Doris was a graduate of McDowell High School and had been an inspector at Spectrum Control. She enjoyed crafts, travel, winters spent at her home in Florida, family gatherings and holidays. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and attended the Cranesville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her previous husband, Robert M. Smith, a daughter, Doris Lynn Stiles, and a brother, Richard V. Abbott. She is survived by her husband, Clarence L. Caughlin; four children: Daniel Wagner and his wife Nancy, Dannette Pelz and her husband Chris, Deena Budd and her husband Keith, and Robert Smith and his partner Jenelle; four stepchildren: Becky Ruf, Dale Smith, Ricky Smith and Jeanette Smith; a sister, Joyce Robison; a brother, Don Abbott; as well as 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cranesville United Methodist Church, 10017 Meadville Road, Cranesville, PA 16410, with Rev.
