Doris Fessler

Doris Beckman Fessler, age 96, of Fairview, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017. 
She was born in Erie on January 13, 1921, a daughter of the late William and Florence Schutter Beckman.
Doris graduated from Strong Vincent and went on to attend Erie Business College.
She was a devoted homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Doris loved to travel and enjoyed books and poetry. She had an adventurous spirit, a kind heart and a ready laugh. 
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James J. Fessler and two sisters, Jean Beckman and Florence Toboz.
She is survived by three children and seven grandchildren, daughter Christine Fessler of Madison, WI and her son Eli Fessler, daughter Carol Fessler and her husband Thomas Hearity of Yorktown Heights, NY and their children Gregory Mendoza (Briana),  Nicholas Mendoza, Joseph Hearity, Jessica Curley and Zachary Curley (Mayra) ; a son, Stephen Fessler of McAllen, TX and his daughter Jesse Fessler.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Saturday, June 10th from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:30 pm.  Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
