Doris Belser

Doris E Dowding Belser, 100, died at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge in Erie, PA on May 27, 2016. Doris was born in Buffalo, NY on November 23, 1915 to the late Harry and Kathryn Sammon Dowding.

She was a 1933 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Buffalo, NY. While primarily a homemaker, she worked for a brief time at Bell Aircraft and The Tweed Shop. In 1939 she married Edward J Belser and moved to Kenmore,NY where they raised their two daughters. After 62 years of marriage, Edward passed away in 2002.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie A (Jeffrey) Mills of Brevard, NC and Barbara J. (Barry) Jackson of Fairview, PA. Further survived by two grandchildren, Christopher R (Nadia) Jackson of Austin, TX and Kelly M. Jackson (Finance’ Tyler O’Halloran) of Austin, TX.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the compassionate care their mother received while at St. Mary’s. The entire staff treated Doris like family.

Friends may visit on Friday, July 1st from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge, followed by a mass at 11.
