Doris Baird

Doris L. Baird, formerly of Wellington Road, in Millcreek, passed away on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at Sarah Reed Senior Living surrounded by family.

She was born on November 11, 1929 in Pittsburgh PA to Donald and Virginia (Blount) Lindley and attended Brentwood High School.

Doris married William “Bill” Baird on March 20, 1954 in Titusville PA.  They made their home in Erie.

Doris worked for Bell Telephone, GTE and retired from the Millcreek School District.  She was a former member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening, reading and believed no home was complete without a dog.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bill, her sister Shirley and son-in-law David Timko.

Doris is survived by her daughters Joan Timko of Erie and Barbara Baird (Abigail) of Cabot Vermont, granddaughter Lindley Timko, sister-in-law Nancy Hasted, brother-in-law Joseph Baird (Sherry) and nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th St. (at Powell Ave.) on Tuesday from 4:00 until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. With Rev. Michael DiMartinis officiating.  Burial will be private at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
