Donna Mae Weinheimer Schabacker, 90, of the Village at Luther Square and formerly of 728 W. 3rd St., died Wed., Feb. 8, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. She was born July 13, 1921, in Erie, daughter of the late Harvey and Geraldine Stone Weinheimer. Following her graduation from Academy High School in 1939, she danced with the Cleveland Ballet Company. She worked for General Telephone, Frank Schauble Photo Studio and Allburn Florist. She was an accomplished artist and published a book on genealogy that is in the National Archives entitled "Hugh Stone of Rhode Island". She was a member of the Presque Isle Chapter of Daughters of the Revolution where she served as registrar for many years. She was a former member of the Kahkwa and Erie Clubs.
Survivors include three children, David Schabacker of Erie, Nancy Schabacker Barton and long time companion Rob Tozer of Naples, FL and Scott Schabacker and wife Kathy of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Dana Bradfield Barton and Sarah Schabacker of San Diego, CA, Aubrey J. Barton II of Los Angeles, CA and David Schabacker III of Michigan; and two great-grandchildren, Devon and David Schabacker IV of Michigan.
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Saturday from Noon until the time of service there at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Coleman of Luther Memorial Church will officiate.
