Donna (Porter) Pfeffer, 83, of Fairview, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
She was born on December 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Reid and Mildred (Williams) Porter in Erie.
Donna was a proud 1959 graduate of Girard Union High School. Throughout her life, Donna was known for her dedication to helping others and her deep love for her family. Her most cherished role was that of a grandmother. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her love for them was immeasurable. Her family was the center of her life, and she was always eager to offer support, love, and guidance.
She was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 742 Ladies Auxiliary. Donna's sense of community extended to her involvement with the Fairview Presbyterian Church, the Eastern Stars, and the Fairview Senior Center, where she made lasting connections and memories.
An avid gardener, Donna found joy in nurturing plants and flowers, reflecting her caring and nurturing nature. She was known for driving around to visit friends and family, always eager to spread cheer and stay connected with those she loved. Donna also had a special fondness for Taco Tuesday and wing night, traditions that brought her much happiness.
Donna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love for her family and community.
She is survived by her sons: Glen Pfeffer of Fairview, Thomas & Denise Pfeffer of Fairview, and Kurt Pfeffer of Fairview; her brother, Reid & Anna Porter of Lake City; her brother-in-law, Robert Pfeffer of Fairview; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. Pfeffer, her brothers, Richard E. and Clyde W. Porter, and sister-in-law Elaine Leopold-Zula.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor taking place in the spring of 2025. The family invites all who knew and loved Donna to join in honoring her memory and the joy she brought to so many lives.
