Donna M. McCarthy

Donna M. (Vitron) McCarthy, age 93, of Erie passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Walnut Creek Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born October 20, 1930 in Erie the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa (Ettwein) Vitron. A lifelong resident of Erie,she had worked as a secretary with the Lord Corp. retiring in 1986. Donna enjoyed sewing, traveling, and doing water aerobics. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. McCarthy who died in 2008; a son-in-law, John E. May who died in 2013 and two sisters; Marjorie Schnaekel and Dolores Deakins.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Denae May of Erie along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Downtown, 602 W.10th St. on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at which time Prayer Services will be held. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. 

Donna’s daughter would like to give many thanks to the staff for taking such wonderful care of her mom.
