Donna Heintzel

Donna May Heintzel, age 69, of Fairview, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at her residence.

She was born in Erie on October 14, 1948, a daughter of the late Donald C. and Gertrude Ludwig Ames.

She attended school at Tech Memorial, East High School, Harborcreek and graduated from Fort LeBoeuf, Class of 1966.

She was a self-employed business owner of “For Any Occasion” Stores at 8^th and Marshall and Millcreek Square, a bridal shop carrying invitations and accessories.

She was a member of Baptist Faith Church and a board member of Christian Women’s Club for 15 years.  Donna enjoyed bowling for many years and could be seen at the casino. She volunteered at Sarah Reed, and also called bingo on Thursday nights. Donna loved her family, and from 2001-2017 she planned, organized and hosted the Ames family reunions.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers. Donald C. Ames and Thomas G. Ames, and her in-laws Herman and Virginia Heintzl.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Richard A. Heintzel of Fairview, PA; a son, Michael L. Heintzel of Erie, PA; a daughter, Michelle S. Lewis of Millcreek; grandchildren: Karley & Logan Lewis, Michael R. and Sarah Heintzel, Nicole, Noelle, Natasha & Nicholas Heintzel.  She is further survived by an aunt, an uncle, several cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on the family at the Burton Funeral Home at 602 West 10^th Street on Friday from 2:00pm-4:00pm and from 6:00pm-8:00pm and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 10 am.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
