Donna Franz

Donna Lee Franz, age 75, of Erie, PA, passed away October 7, 2022.

She was born in Phillipsburg, PA on December 24, 1946, the daughter of the late Paul C. and Marie (Rougeux) Fontenoy.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Franz and his parents, Bernard and Annamarie Franz.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Spears (Adam), her son, Matthew Franz (Lauren), five grandchildren, Camryn and Sydney Franz, Emmett and Charlotte (Charley) Spears and Kayla Katella.  She is further survived by five sisters in law, Patricia Drabina (Gerald), Nancy Duarte (Joseph), Karen DeHoratiis (Guido), Janet Nichols (Nick), and Barbara White (William); two brothers in law, Mark Franz (Lori) and Brian Franz (Terri). Also survived by two sisters, Barbara Poole (Dick) and Suzanne Modlo, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends.

She attended St. Francis High School in Clearfield, PA, and Villa Maria College and Gannon University in Erie, PA. A teacher, she taught third grade at St. John the Baptist Grade School, and 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grade at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School.

She was a member of St. James Church in Erie, PA and St. Ladislas Parish in Westlake, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and having lunch with friends.

Friends are invited to call on the family Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church 2635 Buffalo Rd, Erie, PA 16510. Private interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10^th Street, Erie.

Memorials may be made to Emmaus Ministries, Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. James Roman Catholic Church.
