Donald Wurst, Sr.

December 31, 1969 — May 2, 2016

Donald Wurst Sr passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 2nd, as always, his loving wife at his side.  Don and Shirley were married on June 2, 1962 and became the proud parents of three children, of whom he is survived Donald Wurst Jr. (Sally), Brian Wurst (Shari) and Brenda Wurst all of Waterford.  Don had many fond memories of his grandchildren, Brian Wurst II (fiancée Ali Fritz), Cassandra Kreider (Travis), Stephen and Brittany Burns, and Donald Wurst III and one great-grandchild Katrina Kreider.  Don is also survived by two sisters-in-law Loretta Walmer and Joan Wurst, one aunt Susie Roesch, as well as several nieces, nephews and many cousins.  He also leaves behind a dear childhood friend, Bill Kuhn and family as well as a close cousin George Wurst and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Thora Wurst and his two brothers Robert and Bill Jr.
Don graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1961.  He worked at his family's milk processing business and then at WJ Wurst & Sons with his father and brother and onto Wurst Construction.  In 1977, Donald side by side with his wife Shirley and their children purchased Green Distributors and in 1995 started their manufacturing business, Waterford Precast and Sales from which he retired in 2005.  Over the years, Don and Shirley have built many, many great business relationships with local contractors and formed lasting friendships with employees.
Don could often be found at his camp in Tidioute, where many memories were made such as card games (especially Euchre) family gatherings and hunting.  Don really enjoyed working with and on equipment over the years.  He owned several antique tractors and could be seen proudly showing his support at many of his grandchildren's activities.  Don was a member of many local social clubs, Siebenbuerger, Sunflower, Ft. LeBoeuf American Legion, St Francis Ushers, and the Tidioute Servicemans Club.
Shirley shares that "Day by day, side by side, we shared our lives" and their parting words were always "see ya later".  The family asks that you remember Don in your heart.
It was Don's wish that funeral services be private at the convenience of the family with Deacon Robert Ball officiating.  Private burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a local fire department of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street.
