Donald Tatar

Donald W. Tatar, age 72, of Erie and formerly Pittsburgh, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at his residence.

He was born in Pittsburgh on June 15, 1950, son of the late Walter & Stella Adams Tatar.

He was a graduate of Avonworth High School and Clarion State College and was the owner of D.W. Tatar Design Build Remodeling in Pittsburgh for 38 years.  He was a member of Luther Memorial Church and was on various charitable boards and was an avid volunteer and carpenter/designer. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bob Tatar. 

Don is survived by his wife Jean Ackerman Tatar of Erie, and his son David (Hannah Lowes) Tatar, and grandchildren: Morgan Lyn, Daniel William; his brother Ronald Tatar of Prescott, AZ and his nephew Christopher Tatar of Hollidaysburg PA. 

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc., Downtown, 602 West 10^th St. on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at Luther Memorial Church 225 West 10^th St Erie PA 16501 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.   Burial will be in Erie Cemetery at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A Hand Up Erie, 2527 West 37th St Erie PA 16506 or Luther Memorial Church 225 West 10^th St Erie PA 16501.
