Donald R. Straub

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald R. Straub, beloved fiancé, father and grandfather, who left this world on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the age of 70.

He was born on December 24, 1954, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late David and Audrey (Wolf) Straub.

After high school, Don would serve our country in the United States Air Force. He would then hold various positions from stock boy to store manager in the Erie and Union City communities working at Loblaws, Quality Markets, and later Tops Friendly Market for over 40 years.

He was an avid fan of the Erie Otters Hockey team attending games for the last 20 years.

Don loved traveling to visit his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Don looked forward every spring to planting his garden and he also enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Straub and sister, Carol McManus.

He leaves behind to cherish him in memory, his fiancé, Jeanette Griep; his children, Erin Adam (Andrew) and their children, Anderson, Evan and Owen; Stephen Straub (Michelle) and their daughter, Maddie and  his stepchildren, Jeanine Griep, Jackie Griep and her children, Juliza Lopez and Ricardo Lopez and Chandler Kittel; brother, Thomas Straub (Laurie); stepbrother, David Straub and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
