Donald Rutz

Donald F. Rutz, Sr., died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West, following a long illness.

He was born July 30, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Emil and Florence Ludeman Rutz.

Don served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a radio operator on the PBM5.

He graduated with a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Toledo in 1950 and worked for Nicholson Concrete Company as an accountant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Phyllis, and brother, George; and daughter, Linda K. Little, PhD.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rita Dziak Rutz, a son Donald F. Rutz, Jr. (Susan) of The Woodlands, Tex.; daughter, Heidi Rutz (Roger Hildebrandt) of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; and grandchildren: Scott Hildebrandt (fiancée Melanie Jones), Sean Little (Sofana), Brittany Little (fiancé Derek Schaefer), and a great grandson Zane A. Little.

Friends are encouraged to call or stop by the house.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
