Donald Rice

Donald Rice went to meet his higher power July 22, 2024 at Saint Vincent Hospital following a brief illness. 

Don was born in Ashtabula, Ohio January 21, 1949. He graduated from McDowell High School in 1966 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War as a Hospital Corpsman. 

On November 20, 1982 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Picardo and they made their home in Erie. He worked at Pleasant Ridge Manor until his retirement. 

Don loved to travel and was a sports enthusiast. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns and Indians fan to the end. If you knew Don, you had to be ready to tell a joke. 

Don is survived by his wife, two brothers in law, Don and August Picardo, and nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his best friends, Eric Lyle and Dan Edgar. 

Don has requested no visitation hours. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th Street. 

Memorials may be made to the Erie Humane Society.
