Donald Olson

March 29, 1953 — April 19, 2024

Donald Olson, age 71, of Erie, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born in Erie on March 29, 1953 to the late Donald and Adeline Olson.

Donald retired as chemical operator from BASF Corporation after being employed with them for 44 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a fun night at home playing cards with his family, especially poker. He liked watching football and baseball especially when his teams were playing. He had been a long-time avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, and the Los Angeles Rams. He also enjoyed being the best “PAPA” to his grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his wife, Deborah; by his children, Richard Olson (Colleen), Timothy Olson, Kimberly Burkhart (Jeremy), and Kelley Cook (Jeremy). He is further survived by his grandchildren, Jayla (Evan), Aiden, Gianna, Brennan, Nicholas, Cameron, Kobe “Little Guy”, Noah, and Nash. Donald is survived by his siblings, Larry Olson (Rebecca), Gloria Olson, close cousins Ray Olson and Linda Royer as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
