Donald C. Morgan
Donald C. Morgan, 82, of Erie passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of hospice. He was born September 22, 1932 in Warsaw, NY the son of the late Charles and Florence Burse Morgan.
He graduated from Warsaw High School and enlisted in the US Air Force being honorably discharged after 4 ½ years of service. Donald retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 43 years as an air traffic controller with over 42 years at the Erie International Airport. He was one of the original controllers when the tower opened in 1958. He also volunteered at the Erie Veterans Medical Center for many years, and also served as an usher with the Erie Seawolves baseball team.
Donald is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen Myers Morgan; a sister Betty Luperino of Batavia, NY and the following children; Mark (Nikki) Morgan and Teresa (Jack) Bell of Brighton, U.K.; Craig (Kim) Steudler, Gary Steudler, Debra (Larry) Neubauer, Victoria (Jeff) Goda, all of Erie and Dawn M. Corkan of Painesville, OH. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Sunday from 2-5 PM only and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Monday at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Catholic Church,1116 W.7th St. Private burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice with a very special thanks to Sally Neer.
