Donald Kauffman

Donald F. Kauffman, age 79, of Fairview passed away on Friday April 26, 2014 at his home at Niagara Village.

Donald was born February 28, 1935 in Champagne County OH son of the late Laurence A. and Mildred Thayer Kauffman.

He attended school there and retired from General Electric in Erie after 28 years of service as a machinist. He was a member of the Silver Sneakers and Weis Library United Methodist Church.

Donald enjoyed CB radios and had a lifelong love of trains of all types.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alta L. Kauffman in 2005.

Surviving are a son Jeffery L. Kauffman and his wife Maria of Albion; a daughter Kristine L. Hessenthaler and her husband Jeff of Spring Lake NC; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by 3 brothers Charles (Marjorie) Kauffman; Vernon (Ruth) Kauffman; and David (Jane) Kauffman and a sister Margaret Smith all of Urbana OH.
