Donald Jones

     Donald P. Jones, 75, of Erie and formerly of Greensburg, PA, died Friday, November 21, 2014, at Sarah Reed Retirement Center.  He was born May 14, 1939, in Lake Alfred, FL, son of the late Paul and Edna Payne Jones.
     A 1957 graduate of Boone High School, Orlando, FL, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.  Mr. Jones was a surveyor for many years for various companies including Bowyer Singleton & Associates in Orlando, FL and Widmier Engineering in Connellsville, PA, retiring in 2001.  He coached softball in Florida and Pennsylvania.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Jones.
     Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sara M. Artis Jones; a daughter, Tabitha Bemiss and husband Scott of Girard, PA; five sons, Derek, Greg and Anthony Jones of Orlando, FL, Brian Jones of Erie, and Jeffrey Jones and wife Shelly of Tavares, FL; sister, Martha Doster and husband Ken of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Brett, Brandon and Taylor Jones of Tavares, FL, and Zachary and Lucas Bemiss of Girard, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Sunday 2 p.m. until the time of service there at 5 p.m. The Rev. Keith McGarvey of South Harborcreek United Methodist Church will officiate.
