Donald Bridger

Donald M. Bridger, age 86, of Cambridge Springs, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home.

Don was born in Erie on July 29, 1930, son of the late Clifford E. and Winifred Wilkins Bridger. He graduated from Millcreek High School and served in the U. S. Naval Reserve. Don was a career Dairyman. For many years he worked with his parents on the family farm, C. E. Bridger Dairy, located in west Millcreek. He worked both on the farm and as the milk route deliveryman. When his parents retired in 1963, he moved the dairy farm to Cambridge Springs, operating his farm until retiring in 1995. Don served as Past President of the Erie-Crawford Co-op, as a Director of the Milk Marketing Board and on the Review Board of Production Credit.

Before moving to Cambridge Springs, Don was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He then became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge Springs, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Men’s Group.

Don was passionate about his career and his farm. His greatest loves were his wife, children and especially his grandchildren of whom he was very proud.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard A. Bridger.

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Moore Bridger; his children Kimberle Gervase (Jim) of Erie, Janel Wood (Bud) of Meadville, Stephen Bridger (Linda) of Saegertown, Peri Bridger (Tim Otwell) of Naples, Florida and John Bridger (Amy) of Cambridge Springs. He is further survived by his grandchildren Melissa, Jennifer, Braden, Jordyn, Marshall, Nicole, Stella and Call; a great-granddaughter, Gemma, and his sister, Phyllis Komora (Jack) and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bridger.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
