Dolores Miller, age 92, of Erie, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 15, 2022, surrounded by family at Forestview Healthcare Center. She was born in Oak Park, IL daughter of the late Walter and Clara Kilcourse Jennings.
She was a graduate of St. Charles Hospital School of Nursing in Aurora, IL, she received a BSN from De Paul University in Chicago, IL, and attended Lewis University in Joliet, IL.
She was a Childbirth Educator and Doula and worked at various hospitals in the Chicago area, she was a nursing instructor at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL and worked at St. Vincent Hospital and the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, Toastmasters International, Associate Sisters of St. Joseph, and Erie Cursillo Movement. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross for 35 years.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church and was a Eucharist Minister, Toastmasters International, Erie Cursillo, Associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
She was a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross for 35 Years, Hospice, and Care and Concern.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald M. Miller,
four brothers, David, James, Walter, and Jerome Jennings, four sisters, Angela and Mary Jennings, Therese Harmon, Winifred Weber, and Dorothy Black her twin sister.
She is survived by a son, James Michael Miller and his wife Lisa Miller of Chicago, IL a daughter, Annette Miller Lewis and her husband Carl Lewis of Girard, PA, and her granddaughter, Allison Marie Cocke.
Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 10 am until the time of prayer service there at 12 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately on Monday, June 20, 2022 at St. Luke’ s Roman Catholic Church, 421 East 38th Street at 12:30 p.m.
Additionally, Friends may call at Donnellan Funeral Home, 10525 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60643 on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of chapel service there at 12 noon. Entombment will be at Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.
