Dolores Lyons

Dolores V. Lyons, age 92, of Erie, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Center.   She was born in Erie on February 24, 1928, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel Johnson.

She graduated from East High School and the Hamot School of Nursing before beginning her more than 40 year career as a registered nurse who was always very nurturing and kind to every patient she cared for over all the years.

Dolores was a member of Church of the Cross and loved being part of the church choir, Dolores also was a Sunday school teacher and did mission trips to Haiti and was a volunteer for hospice. Her main interest was being with her family. She loved and adored her loving husband Bernard, who died on December 14, 2001. She was passionate about spending time with her sister, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dolores loved family picnics, parties, and weddings. She was thankful to the Lord for all her blessings, she trusted in the Lord for strength.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son in law Howard Liebau, brother in law Robert Newara and two sisters Barbara Stablein and Joann Beck.

She is lovingly survived by two daughters Rebecca Wilson, Nancy Liebau and sister Judy Newara all of Erie, grandchildren Shelli (Martin) Minnaugh of Richmond, VA, Heather (Tim) Valencic of Jacksonville, FL, Kristi (Greg) Myers, of Richmond, VA, and Trisha (Ryan) Sullivan of Erie. Dolores is further survived by many great grandchildren Molly (Jake) Blunier; Lily and Stanley Minnaugh; McKenzie Valencic; Ryan, Grayson, Lauren, Anderson Myers and Tyler Liebau Hurta along with many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful care and support provided by the staff at Forestview Skilled Nursing Center.

Private arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services West Ridge 3801 W. 26^th St., Erie, PA 16506. Burial will be private at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
