Dolores A. DeMarco of Erie passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at the age of 88. She was born on March 9, 1933; the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen A. Walter.
Dolores is survived by a brother, Ross Walter (Barbara) and a sister, Helen L. (Robert) Collins, both of Erie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald P. DeMarco, in 2018, her parents, and her brother Rev. Ralph Walter, Jr., of Essex, MA.
Dolores graduated from Academy High School in 1951 and continued her education at the Erie Business Center. She was employed by Security-Peoples Trust Company for over 40 years, beginning in the Bookkeeping Department. She was a former member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and Financial Secretary for many years.
Dolores enjoyed entertaining her family and friends on all the holidays, especially the 4th of July, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Luther Memorial Church, 225 West 10th Street, Erie, PA, with viewing in the Parlor from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a Church Service at 1:00 pm. Face masks are required. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, PO Box 1316, Erie, PA 16512, Luther Memorial Church, 225 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Dolores’ family would like to thank Lecom/Regency and the Millcreek Community Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion that were provided to her.
