Dolores Butterfield

Dolores Steva Butterfield, age 92, formerly of Erie, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, in Smithsburg, Md.

She was born in Erie, Pa., on December 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Forest H. and Pauline Wurst Steva.

Mrs. Butterfield was a graduate of West Millcreek High School, class of 1940, and Erie Commercial College, and was formerly employed as a secretary of Penn Union Electric Company.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 60 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Leonard Butterfield, on June 11, 2000, and her brother, Donald G. Steva, on May 22, 2011.

Dolores is survived by three children: Dr. Paula C Butterfield (Rebecca) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Eric John Butterfield (Earla); of Louisville, Kentucky; and Libby I Hale (Bryan) of Smithsburg, Maryland. Dolores is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Allison Schroeder (Chad) of Hamilton, Ohio; Benjamin Butterfield (Ashley) of Batavia, Ohio; Jacob Hale (Jenn) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Emily Hale of Baltimore Maryland; and Mina and Gunner Schroeder of Hamilton, Ohio. Further, she is survived by a sister Millicent Tropf (Gordon) of Florida and Sister in Law, Jayne Steva of California. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services were private. Interment will be at Wattsburg Cemetery.
