Dolores Bertges

Dolores E. Bertges, age 86, of Wattsburg, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie on September 5, 1928, daughter of the late John and Ruth Biehler Bertges.

Dolores attended Strong Vincent High School. She loved gardening and flowers. She sold her fresh grown goods at the Farmer’s Market on State Street for many years. She had strong family values which was shown lovingly and caringly to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All enjoyed her cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William J. Bertges and her sister Ellen.

Survivors include two sons: William J. Bertges, Jr. and his wife, Qui of Fresno, CA, and Dean Charles Bertges of Wattsburg; a daughter, Rosemary Whitehair and her husband Bruce, of Wattsburg; nine grandchildren: Andrew, Lynda, Zina, Deana, Elizabeth, Nathanial, Ethan, Brea and Adriane ; seven great grandchildren; a sister Carolyn Huff, and several nieces and nephews.
