Dolores Benacci

Dolores Benacci, age 95, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Elmwood Gardens Retirement Community. She was born in Erie, September 14, 1927 the daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine Zielinski Zatkiewicz. 

Dolores attended East High School, and later worked for General Electric and as a head cashier at Loblaw’s. 

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Albert Benacci, and a sister Evelyn Koszegi.

She is survived by her two daughters, Doreen Petri (Rick) of Erie, and Diana Rakoczy (Pete) of Girard; two granddaughters, Sarah Petri of San Francisco, CA, and Lindsay Tomes (Jeremy) of Wexford, PA. Dolores is further survived by her great grandchildren, Giovanni, Mimi, and Luka Tomes, and a brother, Ronny Zatkiewicz (Kitty) of Erie. 

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always put her family above everything else. Dolores was a great cook, and seamstress; she enjoyed reading and playing pinochle with friends.
