Diann Petri

March 29, 1944 — December 8, 2014

Diann Y. Petri, age 70, of Lake City, passed away Monday December 8, 2014 at her residence.

She was born in Erie, on March 29, 1944, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Ferry Zeigler.

Diann attended Academy High School where she studied accounting at Vo-Tech. She worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Giant Eagle. Diann also had worked at JC Penney’s, Halle’s Department Store, Ben Franklin/Craft Occasions as well as being the milk lady at Elk Valley Elementary School. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Girard, where she was a past president of the Altar Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Pohl Wisniewski, and two brothers: Francis and Gaylord Zeigler.

Diann is survived by her husband David H. Petri, three sons: David and his wife Lisa, Darrell and his wife Maryann; and Dwayne Petri; and a daughter, Darlene Nelson and her husband William; ten grandchildren: Marissa, Laurel, Chris, Dustin, and Kayla Petri, Devin and Cara Nelson, Padraig, Brendan, and Ciara Ferris. She is further survived by five brothers: Elmer, Gilbert, Phillip, Lloyd and Raymond Zeigler as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, and are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday at 11 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 8942 West Ridge Rd., Girard, with Reverend Andrew Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Girard Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Erie Branch, 4021 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505 or Erie Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
