Dennis Staley

Dennis J. Staley, age 58, of Erie, died on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Saint Vincent Health Center. He was born in Kirksville, Missouri on October 19, 1954, a son of the late Calvin C. and Coral Jonielle Keithley Staley.

Dennis moved to Erie in 2003 from New York City. In New York, he was a systems analyst for TIAA-CREF (Insurance Company). He was a member of Lily Dale Spiritualist Church. He was also a proud member of the Tyrian Commonwealth Lodge No. 362 F. & A.M and the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie. He was very loving, giving and caring. He was always willing to help others before helping himself. He adored all three of his sons. He enjoyed storm chasing, woodworking, building model ships and in his younger years weightlifting.

He is survived by his fiancée Lorelei Michele Murphy, his three children, Matthew and Austin Staley of Indianapolis and Kevin Staley of Boston, Massachusetts, and a sister Judith S. Brenneke. Many nieces and nephews and his foster parents also survive.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, 602 West Tenth Street, on Tuesday March 12, from 6pm until the time of the service at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Richard Elberfeld, Jr. presiding. Tyrian Commonwealth Lodge No. 362 F.&A.M. will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
