Dennis Roberts

    Dennis L. "Peanut" Roberts, 63, of Erie, died on Saturday, June 3, 2017.  He was born on August 19, 1953, in Erie, son of the late Maurice Roberts and Hattie Hamilton Roberts McClelland.  He graduated from Strong Vincent High School where he was an accomplished wrestler competing in the state championships.  He was a welder working for Erie Forge and most recently, Riley Stoker where he worked for over 25 years retiring in 2009.  "Peanut" attended Delaware Avenue Baptist Church and was just the sweetest man ever.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Roberts.
     Survivors include two daughters, Lora Lee Roberts and fiancé Jeremy Harris and Michelle Stone and husband Matthew, all of Erie; a sister, Virginia Sitter and husband David of Harborcreek, PA; two brothers, James and Richard Roberts, both of Erie; eight grandchildren, Aunalyese and Aleah Roberts, Jeremy Harris, Jr., Leeland and Ethan Harris, and Angelina, Matthew and Jonathan Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Pastor David Leninsky, of Delaware Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate.  Private burial will be at Mina Cemetery, Mina, NY.  Memorial contributions may be designated to the family in care of the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA 16502.
