Denise Stablein

Denise Stablein, age 47, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Erie on July 8, 1966, she was the daughter of John and Jean Hooper George of Erie.

Denise was a 1984 graduate of St. Benedict Academy. She worked as a secretary for Keystone Rehabilitation Systems. Denise loved gardening, cooking and most importantly, loved her sons.

In addition to her parents, Denise is survived by her husband of 23 years, Michael Stablein, Jr, her sons: A.J. and Ben; her brother John and his wife Lisa of Chesterland, Ohio; her sister Sue Higgins and her husband Tom of Erie; Mother-in-law Julie Hansen and her husband Buck, Father-in-law Mike Stablein, Sr, (Millie). She is further survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 101 Olin Avenue with Father Bill Miller officiating.
