Dengtoy (Sounethone) Helsley, 43, of Erie passed away Monday March 3 at St Vincent Hospital.
She was born to Bouasone and the late Tieng Sounethone, January 5, 1971 in Vientiane Laos and came to the USA in 1981.
Toy graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1990 and received her BS in Psychology from Penn State Behrend in 1994. She also received her MS in Library Science in 1999 from SUNY Buffalo.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and the best friend anyone could ever hope to have. She was a fabulous cook and her Christmas cookies were legendary. She was an active member of the Wolf Road book/ wine club. Her selfless nature and generosity made the world a brighter place. She will be missed by all.
Toy is survived by her husband Scott Helsley, son Jackson Helsley, her father Bouasone Sounethone, her brother Timothy Sounethone, father-in-law Glenn Helsley and mother-in-law Agnes Helsley and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 602 W. 10th Street on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be private.
