Dedric Gordon

Dedric R. Gordon, age 40, of Erie, made his transition on Friday, September 28, 2018.  He was born in Erie, on August 31, 1978, a son of Billy Ray Gordon and Debbie Watson and was baptized at First Good Samaritan AME Church, where he was active in his younger years. 

Dedric was a 1998 graduate of Central High School and attended Edinboro University. He obtained his Barbering License at Fortis Institute.  He was an extraordinary father and lived each day for his children.  He was a dedicated employee of Supportive Living Services.  Dedric loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and was an avid fan.  He enjoyed collecting sneakers, hats and baseball cards.  

He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace, his maternal grandmother, Mildred Watson, his paternal grandfather, Angelo Gordon, Sr., his aunt, Brenda Watson and his uncle, Angelo Gordon, Jr. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Denalla, Nyhirah, Dedric, Jr., De’Amari, Zhañe, and Kaitlin, his paternal grandmother, Lillian Gordon, his maternal grandfather, Gilbert Watson, Sr., three sisters, Makyla Watson, Tawica and Laricia Nicholson.  He is further survived by his Godfather, Elder Alvin Barnett, many Godchildren, two nephews, one niece and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Friends may call at Greater Calvary Baptist Church, 2624 German Street, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, form 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m., with Bishop Jesse N. Gavin presiding.  Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St. Erie.
