Deborah L. Olson

December 11, 1952 — June 4, 2024

Deborah Olson, age 71, of Erie, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Erie, December 11, 1952, daughter of the late Dorothy and Joseph Banko.

Deborah was a cake decorator for many years at various grocery stores around Erie, and retired from Giant Eagle Harborcreek.

Deborah’s natural talent for cake decorating was nothing short of impressive, from making wedding cakes for her children to extravagant birthday cakes for her grandkids throughout the years. She was gifted with many other hobbies that she enjoyed such as arts/crafts, sewing and baking just to name a few, but most of all she loved sharing these many talents with her grandkids.

Deborah is survived by her four children, Richard Olson (Colleen), Timothy Olson, Kimberly Burkhart (Jeremy), and Kelley Cook (Jeremy); nine grandchildren Jayla (Evan), Aiden, Gianna, Brennan, Nicholas, Cameron, Kobe, Noah, and Nash; seven sisters Patty, Marge, Dorothy, Joyce, Kathy, Barbara, Jeanne; one brother Jimmy; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Olson; one sister Norma; and one brother Butchie.

Friends are invited to call on the family Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
