Deborah Keller

March 26, 1951 — October 6, 2017

Deborah Jane Harmon Keller, age 66, of Erie, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at Manchester Commons after complications from recent surgery and years of suffering from Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

She was born in Punxsutawney PA on March 26, 1951, a daughter of Margie Harmon and the late Erv Harmon.

Debbie graduated from Redbank Valley High School in New Bethlehem, PA in 1969.  She attended Indiana University of PA, then completed cosmetology school in Kittaning.  Debbie operated her own beauty shop on Cottage Hill in New Bethlehem for several years.

She married Ed Keller in 1989 and lived in Punxsutawney before they relocated to Henderson, NV.  After Ed’s death in 2007, Debbie and her three adored Chihuahuas returned to Erie to live with her sister and family and also her mother.

In addition to her mother, Debbie is survived by her sister, Eve Allen, her brother-in-law Bryan Allen; two nieces, Abbey (David) Camp and Poppy (Christopher) Archer; and nephew, Christopher Allen, who all loved her dearly.  She is further survived by her paternal uncle, Don Harmon and maternal aunt, Shirley Etzel; as well as many cousins and close friends all over the country.

Debbie never lost her youthful, fun-loving spirit despite years of physical pain; and maintained a special love for Snoopy.  She will be deeply missed and always remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her honor to one of the charities that meant so much to her: any animal rescue organization; Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505 or St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place
Memphis, TN 38105

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie PA 16506.

Debbie has chosen to donate her body to medical research, hoping to help others, even in death.  She will be laid to rest in Mt. Zion Cemetery in New Bethlehem at a future date.
