Deboe Pickering, age 59, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, January 28,2018 at UPMC Hamot Hospital.
He was born on February 10, 1958 in Laurel, MS, son of the late Jettie Lee McCullum and D.J. Pickering.
Deboe graduated from Academy High School and was a foundry worker for Keystone Foundry, EMI, Zurn Industries, Lincoln Foundry, Bush Industries, and GE. He was a faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Deboe loved gardening, cooking, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed the practice and profession of martial arts along with a passion for various electronic gadgets.
In addition to his parents, Deboe is preceded in death by two brothers, Jayfus and D.J. Pickering, Jr.
Deboe is survived by his wife, Marthenia Stallsmith Arrington Pickering; sons, Torriano Beard, Devoe Pickering, and Deboe Pickering, Jr.; his daughters, Miyesha (Jameel) Gibbs, Katreese George, Tiana Holcombe, Shanonna Beard, and Nakisha Holcombe; several grandchildren, one great grandchild; his sisters, Judy Brown, Mae Ella Pickering, Teresa Pickering; his brothers, A.B., Clifford, and Lee Pickering; his brothers in law, Ricky, George Jr. (Debbie), and Steve (Sonya), as well as his sister in law, Renitta Arrington. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Friends are invited to call on the family on Friday, February 2nd from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, 327 East 23rd Street, Erie PA. A funeral service will be held at there at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3rd Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
