Dayle Alma Cianella, 87, of Poolesville, MD, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 1, 2023, leaving a gaping hole in our hearts.
She was a loving wife to Sal Cianella for almost 66 years. She was born on July 27, 1936, to the late Dorothy Doran Geisler. She was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania by a loving family. She had 4 sisters, a wonderful grandmother and grandfather and often shared her fond memories of that time.
Dayle was a youthful, vibrant woman who was busy every minute of every day. She loved golfing, her family and her senior activities, especially Bingo. Throughout her life she was happiest with her family and grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to travel, loved to try new restaurants and was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees and the Washington Commanders. She taught us all how to love and in return was loved by everyone she met.
Dayle is survived by her three children; Kathy Jo Horan of Poolesville, MD, Brian Cianella (Julia) of Jupiter, FL, and Tracy Young (Rob) of Erie. She was a beloved Menah (Mernah) to 6 grandchildren and spouses, PJ Horan (Katie), favorite and only granddaughter Courtney Low (Scott), Ryan Horan (Stephanie), Jake Cianella, Landon and Sam Oddono and her 6 great grandchildren, Johnny, Chris and Hallie Horan, Mikey and Huxley Low and Owen Horan. There will be a hole in the bleachers where their Menah cheered them to victory. They all loved spending time with their Menah and will truly miss her. Dayle is also survived by a sister, Patricia Harabedian, and many well loved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) would be greatly appreciated.
