Dawn Marie Stanton, age 64 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at St. Vincent Health Center.
She was born in Knox, OH on December 18, 1957 a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Zeiter Derks.
She was a graduate of Gallia Academy in OH and Edinboro University with a degree in early childhood education.
She was owner of New Dawn Puppets and Crafts. She loved making puppets and was an amazing Puppeteer. Some of the puppets she made were purchased all around the world. Her family and grandchildren meant the world to her. She also enjoyed baking and crocheting.
She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God in Girard and the Fellowship of Christian Puppeteers.
She is survived by her husband Keith L. Stanton; a daughter, Mary A. Stanton of Lake City; three sons: Keith L. (Annmarie) Stanton Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Joseph E. (Sarah) Stanton of Erie; James A. Stanton of Lake City; a step daughter, Jennifer (David) Bolack of Killeen, Tx; a sister, Lorena Derk of Erie; seven grandchildren: Adrian, Abigail, August (Auggie), Joseph Jr., Aramis (Ari), Joyce, and Aria; many in laws, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at Bethel Assembly of God, Girard.
Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. Girard.
