David Thompson

David Miles Thompson, age 60, of Erie, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born in Erie on February 6, 1956, a son of the late and Pecolia Thompson and Ray Edwards.

David graduated from Academy High School in 1973 and went on to be a self-employed semi-truck driver. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he was a member of the Junior Choir and Junior Usher Ministry, as well as the American Legion Smith Barney Post 700.

David was a handyman who enjoyed entertaining, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He loved the Cleveland Browns and was a diehard fan.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Ruby Keys Thompson, two sons; David A. Thompson and Kevin Keys; a daughter, Carmilla Keys; two grandchildren that he raised, Ahleonah and Izayah Thompson; three brothers, Willie J. Thompson, Derek A. Thompson (Michael) and Gregory A. Thompson; a sister, Carol (Kevin) Sherer; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends and family may call at Shiloh Baptist Church, 901 East 5th St., Erie, PA, on Friday, December 23rd from 10 am until 12 noon followed by a service with Pastor Anthony G. Harris officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street.
