David Petri

David (Dave) H. Petri, 74, of Lake City, passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017. He was born in Girard on October 23, 1942. He was the son of the late Elmer and Florence Mitchell Petri. In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Diann Zeigler Petri, and a brother, Dennis.

After graduating from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1961, Dave enlisted in the United States Army. While stationed overseas, he proposed by letter to the love of his life-Diann Zeigler. The two were married on January 5th, 1963. After leaving the army, Dave became a steamfitter and joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Erie. Dave was a lifetime member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School and serving on church council. Dave also enjoyed spending time outdoors with his beloved family camping, fishing, and hunting.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Darlene Nelson and husband William; three sons: David and wife Lisa, Darrell and wife Maryann, and Dwayne Petri; grandchildren: Devin, Cara, Marissa, Laurel, Christopher, Dustin, Kayla, Padraig, and Brendan; a brother Elmer Petri, Jr.; a sister, Patricia Harpst McCarthy; several brothers and sister in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday at 3 pm with Reverend Andrew Edwards officiating. Both visitation and funeral will be held at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street, Girard.

Inurnment will be at Girard Cemetery at a later date.
